The Rise Culture
SUMMARY
As we officially launch our Rise Together Initiative, we hope it will be an asset to the state of Utah, to teachers / influencers in the arts, and to students and others striving for a career or fulfilling hobby in music, dance, film, theatre, and other forms of art or entertainment.
Our state is teeming with more artistic talent every year, and there is an abundance of qualified and gifted teachers with excellent programs in place. Our aim is to partner with teachers and influencers to offer unique and valuable opportunities for those they teach or mentor.
With our showcase events, expert workshops, collaboration expos, competitive tournaments, student pricing, artist launchpad, and space rentals — each of which will be announced in more detail below — we hope that the Rise Together Initiative can contribute to Utah’s creative community ascending to even greater heights.
POWERED BY THE RIGHT RISE ATTITUDE
The definition of the word RISE is to “move from a lower position to a higher one.”
To rise is always possible, no matter one’s current position or circumstance. To rise is to take the next step, whether that’s a step closer to a pinnacle, a step up from rock bottom, or anywhere in between.
Our goal is for our venue, as its name suggests, to be a place where all who enter have opportunities to rise — to rise in pursuit of dreams, to rise beyond comfort zones, to rise in knowledge or skill, to rise in togetherness, or just to rise from a bad day to a good one by experiencing a great show or forgetting the day’s troubles on the dance floor.
SYNOPSIS OF THE INITIATIVE COMPONENTS

Showcase Events
A showcase event is sort of a recital on steroids — in a professional events venue, featuring a variety of acts, with collaboration encouraged, in front of a live audience, where virtually anyone can register to perform. These events are great opportunities for teachers and influencers to help those they mentor gain priceless experience, not only in performing their craft in a professional environment, but in many other aspects of what it takes to succeed in these industries as well. Showcase events will generally be on Saturdays from 3-5 pm as often as demand dictates. THE FIRST ONE IS SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 22, AND REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN. Expert Workshops
Expert workshops provide valuable opportunities both for those who attend the workshops and those who present them. An expert workshop is essentially an opportunity for anyone with special skills, knowledge, insight, or experience related to the arts in any way to share what they have to offer in a group setting. A teacher could produce a workshop primarily for their existing students to learn something unique as a group as a change from their usual individual lessons. An influential public figure with a vast array of experiences and skills might produce an entire series of workshops, from beginner to advanced. And there are numerous other examples that could be shared of what an expert workshop can be — both in terms of what it’s about and who is presenting it. Full details on the Initiative Details Page.
Collaboration Expos
Successfully being able to collaborate is such a crucial and overlooked part of achieving success in an arts industry, whether as a career or even as a fulfilling hobby. A Rise Together collaboration expo is an organized networking event where people can find others to form groups or work on projects with. Competitive Tournaments
There’s no reason why instrumentalists, actors, singers, comedians, magicians, etc. shouldn’t have their own versions of the already-popular competitions like battle of the bands and dance tournaments. Full details on the Initiative Details Page.
Student Pricing
As part of the Rise Together Initiative, we’re offering special pricing to make it as affordable as possible for students to record their music, shoot videos, rehearse, get multimedia services, etc. Full details on the Initiative Details Page.
Artist Launchpad
For the artist launchpad The Rise is partnering with producers, engineers, web developers, branding/business experts, etc. to help aspiring bands and solo artists take effective deliberate steps that will assist them in their quest to maximize their creative and marketing potential.
